Melee Revenant Gear Setups
Force revenants into melee for safe-spotting with these tested gear setups. Examples for 1-def, zerk, and main variants with detailed gear breakdowns.
How Melee Forcing Works
In specific gear conditions you can force a revenant to use melee attacks only, which allows you to safespot them.
The key principle: Your defensive stab / slash / crush bonus must be lower than your ranged and magic defence.
- Revenants choose their attack style based on your lowest defensive bonus
- By keeping melee defence lower than ranged/magic defence, they will always melee you
- Once they commit to melee, you can safespot behind obstacles
Important Considerations
- Magic level matters: Your Magic level provides invisible magic defence bonuses
- Defence level matters: Higher Defence gives invisible defensive bonuses
- If a revenant mages you instead of melees, your magic defence is too low
- Solution: Increase your Magic Defence bonus through gear or level up your Magic
